Background

Public Risk Underwriters® (PRU) is pleased to announce the development and implementation of an exciting new program, NCIF. Championed by Public Risk Underwriters, Florida Statute 624.4625 passed in 2007 allows governmentally funded nonprofits to "pool" their property, liability, workers compensation and professional coverages in a group purchasing agreement. Pooling is a proven way to efficiently control, stabilize, and predict premium costs. NCIF was created to meet the specific insurance needs of nonprofit organizations.

For the past ten years Public Risk Underwriters has been a leader in developing and implementing innovative risk management solutions for public entities. PRU created Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust (PGIT) in 1999. PGIT has grown to include over 700 cities, counties, school boards, and special taxing districts throughout Florida with annualized premiums exceeding $100 million. Today PRU provides Florida's public and nonprofit entities with cost effective solutions to meet their specific insurance needs.

As a member owned organization, NCIF is governed by an elected board of Trustees selected from the Fund's membership.
